Vision 2030+

Port of Switzerland

The Port of Switzerland in Basel, Birsfelden and Muttenz has been the national hub for connecting Switzerland to the world since 2008. It ensures that around 80 port companies can quickly handle imports and exports of goods by rail and road, or store them appropriately, thanks to the well-developed and organized infrastructure. It also coordinates the various services provided by emergency organizations, port authorities and maritime police, and is responsible for the legal framework in national and international traffic.

Challenges

  • The energy transition has a fundamental influence on the future mix and quantities of the handled goods, and therefore also on transport logistics and the circular economy.
  • As a public-law institution owned by the cantons of Basel-Landschaft and Basel-Stadt, it is necessary to pursue overarching goals for urban planning, security of supply and location attractiveness.

Contribution

  • Structuring and accompanying the process of revising the strategic pillars and Vision 2030+.
  • Moderation of workshops with the board of directors and management.

Impact

  • Revised Strategy and Vision 2030+ for internal and external communication.
  • Metrics for monitoring the implementation of the strategy.
It takes time for common reflection and consolidation, and good process guidance. Florian Röthlingshöfer, Director
