CHANGE & CULTURE

FUCHS GROUP

Founded in Mannheim in 1931 as a family business, FUCHS PETROLUB SE now constitutes 58 operative businesses with over 5,000 employees in more than 45 countries. FUCHS is currently the world’s biggest supplier among the independent lubricant manufacturers.

Challenges

  • Extremely successful international growth had led to challenges around strategic leadership and operative collaboration
  • For the FUCHS Group to keep developing into the future, the local entrepreneurship which is alive and well needed to be strengthened by global thinking and acting throughout the FUCHS Group
  • The Change & Culture Initiative "FUCHS2025" needed to be understood throughout the business and shaped collaboratively in local organisational units

Contribution

  • Perform a comprehensive cultural check (online survey, individual interviews and focus groups) to achieve clarity about the current culture, prioritise areas of action and ensure involvement from the beginning
  • Design a Change & Culture Roadmap that takes a top down and bottom up approach, relies on internal empowerment, and consistently links and synchronises all the relevant Change & Culture activities
  • Assist the group management committee as a team and individually, and empower and assist important stakeholders such as the strategy team, culture scouts and HR community towards a global, lasting, agile implementation of relevant future capabilities
  • Design and moderate a global management meeting and assist in internal communication of the "FUCHS2025" change story

Impact

  • Mutual basic understanding of the why and where-to of the "FUCHS2025 Journey" strengthened among all stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Global "FUCHS2025" understanding and alignment achieved
  • Change readiness and change mindset improved step by step
  • Key projects for organisational and leadership development consistently aligned to the core capability of “act global”
